Collaborations
Project Ankur
Planys is the proud recipient of the very first ‘Project Ankur’ grant by BPCL in the year 2017 Under this umbrella Planys honed the capability of its products to serve the oil & gas sector. Working with BPCL, Planys enhanced its capabilities for inspection of O&G terminals in turbid water conditions and further upgraded the capability of its ROVs to reach higher ranges in the open ocean. With cutting edge thermal engineering and high-density electronic design Planys’ new generation ROV Mikros is ready to serve challenging applications in the process industry.
MDL & IIT Madras
NTCPWC
Bolstering its ties with the academia, Planys has partnered with National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways & Coasts (NTCPWC), Dept. of Ocean Engineering (IIT Madras) and Dept. of Mechanical Engineering (IIT Madras) for the development of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) for bathymetry applications is shallow water zones. Through this startup-academia collaboration Planys aims to provide indigenous and cost-effective solutions for executing academic and industrial research.
Uchhatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY)
Planys collaborated with academia & industry to indigenously design & develop a Tank Rover with the capability to undertake online inspection inside tanks. Our academic partner was IIT Madras and industrial partner was Reliance Industries Limited, this project was jointly sponsored by the MHRD under the Uchhatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY) & RIL. The rover designed by Planys can travel through hydrocarbon fluids and perform NDT inspection without taking shutdown of the tanks. Planys has successfully built the first phase of the project where it can undertake high resolution ultrasonic scanning. Our team is currently working on the second phase of the project.
PORTXL
In 2019, Planys took part in the PORTXL Accelerator program in Rotterdam. The participation helped us in realizing the business potential in the region and we also delivered pilot projects for marquee customers. In addition, Planys also got an opportunity to leverage the vast network PORTXL had across the maritime sector. The partnership with PORTXL has helped Planys in scaling up across international waters.
Qualcomm Design in India Challenge
Planys participated in the Qualcomm Design in India Challenge (QDIC) and collaborated with the Qualcomm team to develop an innovative platform enabling Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT) for the maritime industry. Planys’ Underwater Robots integrated with Qualcomm’s chips and modems will enable underwater data collection and transmission of data back to shore. This platform will create disruptive applications in industries like Defence, Scientific Research, Offshore Energy, Aquaculture, and Disaster Planning. It will help in connecting sensors like seismic monitors, subsea observatories, drifting weather buoys, underwater vehicles (manned/unmanned), environment monitors to the external world.
Accelerated By Vedanta Spark
Vedanta Group announced an initiative called ‘Vedanta Spark’ a global corporate and innovation ventures program on October 30, 2020. The aim was to achieve strategic goals in operational excellence, new product development, and 360-degree sustainability. Planys was selected as one of the top 23 startups out of 1300+ startups from 29 countries across the globe. Through this initiative, Planys contributes to the mission of transforming industries with technology.
Accelerated By Shell E4
Planys was selected in the prestigious Shell E4 Cohort. The program provides a platform for collaboration to start-ups that wish to evolve in the energy sector’s ecosystem. Planys’ team will collaborate with Shell and have access to Shell’s Technology Labs and IT Infrastructure, Resources, Network of Partners, and customers. This collaboration accelerates Planys’ business growth by bringing about digital transformations for marine assets using robotics, NDT, and data.
